On June 6th, $VICI reached ATH because of its inclusion in S&P 500. It has been one of my best-performing stocks during 2022, where every other stock was down, $VICI was beating the market and was in green around 6%. That is when I decided to trade $VICI stocks and take some profits off. And today, I will be presenting you the results.

🔮 Future
💸 Selling 30%
As a long-term holder, it’s really difficult for me to sell than buy. If I feel like any stocks are going down below my price target, I buy them without hesitation. I had missed a chance to sell $U in 100% gain (which I later did in around 45% gains). I also don’t want to miss upside in any case. So, I decided to sell 30% of my $VICI holdings with around 15% gains. Here is the link for trades. That would ensure the following:
If $VICI went up, I would have still bagged 15% gains and 70% would still experience gains
If it went down, I would get an opportunity to buy more shares off of the profit
If it went sideways, well it’s sideways, can enter anytime
I was also aware of the tax situation, but as I sold my holdings like $STAG with a loss to re-balance my portfolio, it would offset the gains. So, on 8th June, I sell 30% of the $VICI holdings 250 worth $8,000. Off $8k, around $1,200 was profit at 14.7%.
🛒 DCA - buying $VICI
From the 8th of June to the 24th of June, I have made around 14 buys ranging from $500 to $1000 and buy prices ranging from $31.39 to $27.93. Here are my trades.
I bought a total of 276.39 shares at an average price of $29.28 amounting to me $8,000.24.
With these trades, I was able to get an extra 22.30 shares. I also was able to save $710 with those 22.3. With a per-share dividend of $0.36 per quarter, I would make $8.03 more per quarter and $32.11 per year extra in dividends. It increased my dividends by 2.64% for $VICI and increased my overall dividends by 0.17% (it may not sound like a lot, but it’s a lot for compounding). With this successful trade, my cost basis decreased from $27.17 to $26.47 for overall $VICI holding which is a decrease of 5.71%.
🔮 Future
The question will always remain, is it good to take short-term profit or target for the longer term. Because I have missed a few opportunities to take a profit, I think, I will continue with my 30% selling strategy - I will in the future tho create a sell thesis and not sell because it has reached ATH.

Short introduction of from100kto1m himself:
I’m business owner and self taught investor after taking Phil Towns 3 day seminar and learning about value investing (and Warren Buffett) I decided to take things into my own hands and start investing into individual companies (stocks) reading anything and everything there is to on value investing and documenting my journey from $100,000 to the (first goal) $1,000,000 and if I’m able to do so with in 5 to 10 years maybe even potentially opening up my own fund (yes I know crazy but what can I say love investing process and giving it all I got while managing my businesses and family (2 little kids)) for me the journey and the goal are both equally important and I’m not doing this to impress anyone but the test myself and what I’m capable of while connecting with likeminded people and sharing/helping any way I can.
